Children
When a child cannot explain what is wrong, it usually shows up in their behaviour instead. Therapy adapted to their age, with parents part of the work rather than waiting outside.
Children's CounsellingIndividual, couple, family, and youth counselling is provided by registered psychotherapists and registered social workers, in person at our Brampton clinic and online across Ontario.
Book Your Free ConsultationSome people arrive knowing exactly what they want help with. Most arrive with only a vague sense that something has not felt right for a while.
A mind that will not switch off at night. A relationship that has gone quiet. Family conversations that end the same way every time. A move, a loss, or a diagnosis that changed more than anyone around you seems to notice.
You do not need a name for it before you get in touch. You do not need a referral. You only need to tell us what has been happening.
We will start by listening.

Two people can walk in using the same word, “anxiety,” and be describing entirely different lives.
So counselling here starts with who you are and what is going on around you, rather than a standard process into which everyone is fitted.

Children's Counselling
A space that belongs to the young person, for school pressure, friendships, identity, low mood, and the years after school that are harder than anyone admits.
Youth Counselling
For the person everyone else relies on, who has quietly run out of room for their difficulties.
Individual Counselling
For partners caught in the same argument, drifting apart, or unsure whether to stay. Married or not, and even if only one of you is ready.
Couples Counselling
Including multigenerational and blended households. Nobody is treated as the problem.
Family Counselling
Support for the years after arrival. The part nobody congratulates you for.
Newcomer CounsellingYou do not need to know whether you need CBT, psychotherapy, or anything else before contacting us. Start with what has been difficult, and we will work out the rest together.

When something has been weighing on you and you are not sure what to call it, we can help you figure it out.

For worry, overthinking, panic, physical tension, and the situations you have started avoiding.

For low mood, exhaustion, and feeling disconnected from things that used to matter, we offer depression counselling and therapy.

For reactions that arrive faster than you can stop them, and for what sits underneath.

For drinking that has started taking up more room than you want it to.

For emotional, controlling, financial, or physical abuse, whether you are still in the relationship or have left it.

For the harsh inner voice that no amount of evidence seems to quiet, this counselling can help.

For bereavement and for changes that reshape a life, including the ones you chose.

For the decision, the process, and co-parenting afterwards.

For the emotional weight of treatment, loss, and waiting.

For settling into a new country and everything that does not settle with it.

For people specifically looking for a psychotherapist and wanting to understand what that involves.
Founder and Clinical Lead · Psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker (RSW)
Coslyn Selby founded C.S. Counselling & Consulting Services in 2011. With over 20 years in direct counselling, she brings experience from hospitals, courts, addiction centres, and women's shelters across the Greater Toronto Area and Peel Region.
She holds a social work degree from Ryerson University and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Coslyn's approach is non-judgmental, empathetic, and collaborative. She works with adults, couples, families, adolescents, and children, drawing on different approaches according to each person's needs and her professional training.
Read Coslyn's ProfileMental health care is personal. You should be able to clearly understand who is supporting you and the professional qualifications, registrations, and recognition behind that care.

Almost every clinic describes itself as compassionate. Here is what that looks like in practice at ours.
C.S. Counselling has supported the community since 2011. More than 2,000 clients have worked with us, and our team brings over 40 years of combined counselling experience.
Every session lasts a full 60 minutes, and you spend that time on yourself. Routine notes are written afterwards, so you are not talking to someone who is typing.
Our team includes registered psychotherapists, registered social workers, and a Canadian-certified counsellor, with different backgrounds, languages, and areas of focus. We match you based on what you are dealing with, who is involved, your language, and your preferences. If the fit is not right, you can change.
Anxiety affects relationships. Family pressure affects sleep. Migration affects everything. We look at the connections rather than treating one concern in isolation.
Alongside our counselling services, we run RESET, our structured six-week alcohol recovery and accountability programme.
Every therapist's registration number is published on their profile, so you can verify it with their regulatory college yourself. Very few practices do this verification.
Our Brampton clinic is wheelchair accessible, with elevator access and designated accessible parking. Paid parking is available on site. Online counselling is available across Ontario with selected therapists.
Before founding this practice, Coslyn Selby spent years counselling in places people rarely arrive at by choice. Hospitals. Courts. Police headquarters. Probation and parole. Addiction centres. Homeless shelters and women's shelters across the GTA and Peel Region.
Most of the people she met there had reached a point where things had already gone badly wrong, often with agencies involved and their choices narrowed.
In 2011, she founded C.S. Counselling & Consulting Services to be the opposite of that: a place where people come because they have made that decision earlier and where they are understood as whole persons rather than as case files.
Coslyn Selby, RSW, is a psychotherapist and registered social worker with over 20 years of counselling experience. Her line for the practice has always been the same. We all smile in the same language.
“We all smile in the same language.”
What brings someone to counselling is rarely the whole story. So we do not begin with a technique.
We hear what has been happening, in your words, without assuming we already know the answer.
We look at the wider picture: relationships, family, work, culture, migration, health, and the changes you are living through.
We match you with the therapist whose training, experience, language, and style best fit what you need.
Together you work toward practical, evidence-informed change that fits your actual life.
You should not have to phone around to find out what counselling costs. Here are our current fees.
| Session | Fee |
|---|---|
| Initial consultation (30 minutes) | Free |
| Individual counselling (60 minutes) | $160 |
| Child or youth counselling (60 minutes) | $160 |
| 5 individual sessions, paid in advance | $760 save $40 |
| Couples counselling (60 minutes) | $280 |
| Family counselling (60 minutes) | $280 |
Our therapists draw on a range of evidence-informed approaches, depending on what you need and their training.
These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), compassion-focused therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, person-centred therapy, DBT-informed strategies, and trauma-informed practices.
You do not need to choose one. Working out which approach suits you is part of what the first conversation is for.
Qualifications tell you someone can help. They do not tell you whether you will feel able to talk to them. Our profiles are written to help with both.

Many people in Brampton handle every part of their working life in English and still find that painful things come out flat when they try to say them in it.
Depending on your therapist, sessions are available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, and Gujarati. You are not asked to choose one and stay there. Many clients speak mostly in English and move into another language when something matters.
Culture, family expectations, faith, and migration may be central to what you are going through or have nothing to do with it. You decide which.
RESET is our structured six-week alcohol recovery and accountability program.
It is built for people who want more than willpower and good intentions: a clear structure, practical tools, and someone holding them to the goals they set.
Over six weeks, RESET focuses on:
Understanding your own drinking patterns and triggers
Building healthier ways to cope with stress and difficult emotions
Accountability for the goals you set
Relapse prevention
A plan for long-term recovery after the program ends

“Counsellor” and “therapist” are general terms. “Registered Psychotherapist” is a protected title in Ontario for professionals registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Registered Social Workers, regulated by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, may also provide psychotherapy within their scope. Our team includes both.
