In person may suit you
if you prefer meeting face-to-face, want a dedicated space away from home, or live in southern Caledon within a short drive.
Caledon is a good place to live and a difficult place to find a therapist.
There is no shortage of reasons people here look for one. Long commutes into the GTA. Farm and family business pressure. Teenagers have more freedom than most and further to travel for everything. Older residents in houses that have become quiet. Newer families in Southfields and Mayfield West who moved for the space and left their support networks behind.
What there is a shortage of is a local place to go.
C.S. Counselling & Consulting Services supports Caledon residents with individual, couples, family, children, youth, and mental health counselling. You can meet with our team virtually or attend in person at our Brampton clinic, which sits on the north side of the city and is the closest side to you.
We do not operate a clinic in Caledon. Our office is at:
2250 Bovaird Drive E, Suite 408, Brampton, ON L6R 0W3You do not need to know what kind of counselling you need before you get in touch.
Call 416-409-8045 to book a free 30-minute consultation.
This is worth saying plainly, because people rarely say it out loud.
In a small community, privacy is not theoretical. If your counsellor's children attend the same school as yours, or you see them at the arena, the plaza, or the feed store, that changes what you feel able to say in a session. Some people manage that without difficulty. Others spend the whole hour editing themselves.
Brampton is close enough to be convenient and far enough to be anonymous. For some Caledon clients, that combination is the main reason they choose us.
Virtual counselling offers the same thing from home, with no vehicle in a parking lot for anyone to see.
Start With a ConversationSometimes the question is not which type of therapy you need. It is why you have been feeling this way for months.
Our team may support people experiencing:
We work with individuals, couples, families, children, and youth.
Caledon is a large area, and where you live in it affects your practical access to counselling.
In Southfields Village, Mayfield West, Valleywood, or the developments along Mayfield Road, you are essentially continuous with north Brampton. Our clinic is a short drive down Kennedy Road, Hurontario Street, or Airport Road. In-person counselling is entirely practical, including on a weekday evening.
In Bolton, Caledon East, Palgrave, Inglewood, Alton, Caledon Village, Cheltenham, or one of the hamlets and rural roads between them, the calculation is different. The drive is real, the roads are dark in winter, and there is no meaningful public transit option. Brampton Transit runs a rush-hour service into Bolton, and that is close to the extent of it.
For many people in that second group, virtual counselling is not a compromise. It is the thing that makes counselling possible at all.
Our office is on Bovaird Drive E near Airport Road, in the northeast of Brampton, which puts it on the Caledon side of the city rather than the far side of it.

If you need an accommodation of any kind, mention it when you get in touch.
Virtual counselling is available across Ontario with selected therapists rather than the whole team. Mention it when you get in touch and we will tell you who is available.
It tends to make particular sense here when:
You need a private space, a reliable connection, and a suitable device. Connection quality varies across rural Caledon, so if your internet is unreliable, tell us during the consultation rather than discovering it mid-session. Sessions by phone may be an option depending on the therapist.
Explore Online CounsellingChoosing counselling is not only about finding the right service. You also need to feel comfortable enough to say the things that are difficult to say.
We have supported clients since 2011. The practice is led by Coslyn Selby, RSW, a psychotherapist and registered social worker with over 20 years of professional counselling experience, and our team includes registered psychotherapists, registered social workers, and a Canadian certified counsellor.
We start with what you have been experiencing rather than assuming we already know.
Work, family, community, culture, history, and circumstances may all be relevant. You decide which parts matter.
We work toward an appropriate direction based on your needs and your therapist's training and scope.
Depending on the clinician, counselling may draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, compassion-focused approaches, mindfulness-informed strategies and person-centred work.
Caledon has changed considerably over the last decade. The southern communities have grown quickly and are now home to many families who moved from Brampton, Mississauga, and further afield, including newcomers to Canada. The villages and rural areas hold families who have been here for generations.
Both bring their own pressures. Settling into a new country and a new community at the same time is a great deal to manage at once. So is living where your family is known, where privacy is limited and where seeking help can feel like an admission.
Sessions may be available in:
Culturally responsive counselling does not mean assuming your background explains what you are going through. It means letting you decide which parts of your story are relevant.
Neither is automatically better.
