Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Examines how thoughts, feelings, and behaviour connect.

Registered Psychotherapist, C.S. Counselling & Consulting Services
Sierra has spent more than five years working with people whose difficulties do not fit into a clear category.
Children whose behaviour was being described as a problem before anyone asked what was driving it. Teenagers navigating a diagnosis. Adults who reached thirty before anyone suggested that the way their brain works might explain a lot. Families trying to support someone without quite understanding what they are going through.
Her background is in behavioural psychology, which tends to produce a particular habit of mind: looking at what a behaviour is achieving for someone before deciding it needs to stop.
Sierra holds an honours bachelor's degree in behavioural psychology and is completing the final year of a master of arts in counselling psychology. She is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), which means she practices under clinical supervision.
She has over five years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families with behavioural, emotional, developmental, and mental health challenges.
A recognized stage of professional registration.
Sierra is registered with CRPO in the Qualifying category. This is a recognized stage of registration for psychotherapists who have completed their core training and are building supervised practice hours toward full registration.
In practice it means two things. She is regulated by the same college and held to the same professional and ethical standards as other registrants. And her clinical work is overseen by an experienced supervisor, which means a second professional perspective on the work.
Her registration can be verified through the CRPO public register.
Depending on your needs and her professional scope, counselling with Sierra may include:
Counselling is not the same as a diagnostic assessment. Where an assessment would be useful, Sierra will discuss that with you rather than working around it.
A good deal of Sierra's experience sits with people who are neurodivergent and with the families supporting them.
That work often has two halves. One is practical, covering the strategies that make a day workable rather than exhausting. The other is the accumulated experience of being told for years that you are not trying hard enough, when in fact you were trying considerably harder than everyone around you.
For parents, the questions are usually different. How to support without taking over. What is worth pushing on and what is not? What to do about school. How to stop every conversation from becoming about the diagnosis.
The starting point in either case is not fixing how someone's brain works.
Sierra describes her approach as integrative and client-centred, which means she works according to what a person needs rather than applying a single method to everyone.
Depending on your needs and her training, she may draw on:
Examines how thoughts, feelings, and behaviour connect.
Focuses less on eliminating difficult thoughts and more on acting according to what matters while they are present.
For managing intense emotions and tolerating distress.
You lead the direction of the work.
Building on what already works rather than only examining what is wrong.
Emotional regulation and behavioural strategies informed by her behavioural psychology background.
Explaining what is going on in an actually useful way, particularly with a new diagnosis.
She may be a particularly suitable fit if you are looking for someone who brings:
If you are unsure, the free consultation is a conversation about what has been happening, not a commitment. Part of its purpose is to help you work out who the right person is for you to see.
If the fit is not right once you have started, say so.
Sierra is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), registration number 22354. Registration can be verified through the college's public register.
She practices under clinical supervision, as required for this registration category.
You do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or the right words to begin.
Tell us what has been happening, and we will discuss whether Sierra or another team member is the best place to start.
If you are in immediate danger or distress, please contact emergency services or a local crisis line. Ongoing counselling is not an emergency service.
